about
This was my (rather pitiful) attempt to write a Bruce Springsteen-esque lost city anthem, hence the twang in my pronounciation. I thought it was cool I guess.
We eventually recorded this song, as "Navi's Love Song" on the Wii Salute U ep, and it was probably better for the requisite lyrical changes. I thought it was interesting if people wanted to hear how a song starts, though.
ALSO, here is another anthem that mentions a mysterious red-headed beau. I've never dated a redhead; I happen to BE a redhead, as does a certain fictional character. This was also recorded during the Asuka sessions, so draw your own conclusions. You're smart people.

lyrics
Hey, you got a second, can we talk for a few?
There's nothing in my heart that I wouldn't give to you
Ask me any question and I swear I'll tell the truth
Until the night is over, I belong to you
Let's lie on a blanket and stare up into the night sky
I'll wrap it around you and lend you a shoulder to cry
We can't change the future, but girl we can try!
Wipe your liquid eyes, bite your lip, and be cool with it
I'm not the person I wanted to be
Life can be so cruel, but I'm leaving here for school
In Calgary
Come with me a while and we'll cut our summerteeth
Out in my back yard, underneath the willow tree
I will hold your arm and you will rest upon my knee
We'll hide out in the shadows from our looming destiny
Let's find an empty park and escape from your crew
I'm running out of moments I have left to spend with you
I want to feel the fire, but I just feel aloof
I'm terrified and edgy and I'm lashing out at you
Oh my god, can't even look in your eyes
I don't know if we can last, but we'll try
You can visit sometime...
Wipe your liquid eyes, bite your lip, say you're cool with it
I'm not the person I wanted to be
Life can be so hard, so I'm leaving in a car
For Calgary
Wipe your molten eyes, make a fist and be cruel with it
Toss your red hair as I drown in the sea
You will have my heart, but I need to make a start
In Calgary
